How We’re Helping Make a Difference in Our Community
Introduction
Pride Plumbing of Rochester believes that family is at the heart of everything we do. Family not only includes employees and their loved ones, but it’s our Rochester community as well. Pride Plumbing strives to be an active member in the community by attending local races, parades and benefits throughout the year. We also do our best to help support local small businesses, by doing $50 gift card giveaways each week on our social media accounts! We love doing our part in giving back to our community!
One of the biggest ways we are helping to support our local community is through our Aiming for a Change Program. We started this program back in August of 2018 to help support local non-profit organizations right here in Rochester and have been aiming for a change ever since!
How It Works
Once a month, Pride Plumbing employees meet up (masked and socially distanced of course!) to throw darts at our dart board (Shout out to Amusement Plus for donating individual darts for all employees)! The goal is for each employee to accumulate 250 points, with their individual points carrying over month after month. Once an employee reaches 250 points, they will choose a Rochester non-profit organization and the company will donate $250 in honor of the employee’s name. Not only is this a fun time for our employees (things can get quite competitive pretty quick!), but we love being able to help out charities that mean so much to our own employees!
Covid Impact
Unfortunately, many Rochester non-profit organizations took a major hit during the Covid-19 pandemic and suffered some serious financial loss. In an effort to support our local charities, Pride Plumbing decided to double our efforts in helping the Rochester community.
Originally, about one or two employees would reach their 250 point goal a month, which meant two non-profits would each be receiving $250 from Pride Plumbing of Rochester. But this year, Pride Plumbing is committed to donating $1000 between local non-profits no matter what! So if only one employee hits 250 points that month, Pride Plumbing will take the remaining $750, and donate it to a local non-profit(s) right here in Rochester!
Donations
Oftentimes, our employees will choose non-profits that they have a personal relationship with, but we are always looking for new local non-profits that we can be a helpful hand to. Take a look at the charities we have donated to throughout the last few years so far, and let us know if there’s a special one you’d like us to donate to!
